About Us

The school was incorporated in August of 1969 by a group of parents, who like you, wanted their children to have the enrichment of a Montessori preschool education. From its modest beginnings in the basement of a local church, our school has expanded, and is now located in two spacious, sunlit classrooms in Lincoln Middle School.

The St. James Montessori School is a non-profit charitable organization and relies heavily on the efforts of all of our families. The school is operated by our volunteer Board of Directors and Committees to ensure that we are able to offer our children the benefits of a Montessori education. As such, it is our duty to ensure fundraising initiatives are met and all positions and responsibilities of the Board of Directors are fulfilled.

Our school offers morning and afternoon 2.5 hour programs, with a choice of 3, 4 or 5 days per week. We have two teachers, Shannon and Diana, and there are no more than 20 children attending each session.
